Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Effective: 3 August 2026

Welcome to Aura Makeup AI. These terms of service form the agreement between you and Aura Makeup AI (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the Aura Makeup AI mobile application and related website (together, the “Service”). By downloading, registering for or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

01

What the service is

The Service uses AI to analyse the face photos you upload and the preferences you enter, then provides personalised makeup guidance: recommended looks, colour pairings, products and shade numbers, reference prices and purchase links, and step-by-step tutorials. Some features require a paid subscription.

The Service is a software tool. We do not sell cosmetics and we are not an agent of any brand or retailer.

02

Reference only, not medical advice

Important notice

All analysis, recommendations and tutorial content in the Service are for cosmetic reference only and do not constitute medical, dermatological, pharmaceutical or any other professional health advice, nor are they intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or skin condition.

If you have a skin condition or a history of allergies, are undergoing dermatological treatment, or are unsure about a particular ingredient, consult a dermatologist or qualified professional before using any recommended product. We recommend a small patch test whenever you try something new.

The allergen flagging feature compares the ingredient names you enter against the product ingredient data available to us and does not guarantee completeness or accuracy. Ingredient lists can differ from reality because of reformulation, regional variants or errors in the source data. Always read the full ingredient list on the packaging before buying and using a product.

03

Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are below the age of legal capacity where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s consent to use the Service.
  • Provide accurate, valid information when registering. Accounts are for personal use and may not be transferred, lent or shared.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials. If you discover unauthorised use of your account, notify support@auramakeup.org.
  • You may delete your account at any time — see the account deletion guide.
04

Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Some features require a paid plan. All subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, with status verified and synced by RevenueCat.

  • Auto-renewal.Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, your subscription renews automatically and your store account is charged for the next period within the 24 hours before the current one ends.
  • How to cancel.Manage it in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or the Subscriptions page in Google Play. We cannot cancel a store-side subscription on your behalf.
  • After cancelling.Cancelling only stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the current period, and the amount already paid for it is not pro-rated or refunded.
  • Free trials.Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends. A trial is normally limited to one per user or store account.
  • Price changes. We may adjust subscription prices. Changes take effect from the next period, you will be notified beforehand as the stores require, and you may cancel.
05

Refunds

Because all payments are collected by Apple or Google, refunds must be requested directly from that platform and are handled under its refund policy. We cannot process, approve or issue refunds ourselves.

  • iOS:Submit a request via Apple’s Report a Problem page (reportaproblem.apple.com).
  • Android:Request a refund from your order history in Google Play.

If you believe a technical fault in the Service prevented you from using it, email support@auramakeup.org first — we will help resolve it and, where needed, provide the documentation you need for a platform refund request.

06

Content you upload

The photos, result records and text you upload remain yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to provide the Service: to store, process and transmit the content to third-party AI providers for analysis, and to display it inside your account. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You warrant that what you upload is your own facial image, or that you have the consent of the person shown, and that it infringes no third-party rights. Do not upload other people’s photos, photos of minors, or any unlawful content.

07

Community rules

When using the Service you agree not to:

  • Upload other people’s facial images, or sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful content.
  • Access, scrape or reproduce the Service’s content and recommendation data at scale by automated means.
  • Reverse engineer the Service, circumvent subscription verification, or interfere with its normal operation and security.
  • Repackage our analysis results or tutorials and sell them as your own commercial service.

If you breach these rules we may limit features, or suspend or terminate your account.

08

Product links and prices

Product information, prices and purchase links in the Service come from third-party retailers and public sources and are indicative only.

  • Prices, stock and specifications can change at any time; the retailer’s own site is authoritative.
  • We are not the seller and are not responsible for product quality, authenticity, delivery, returns or after-sales service. Please take such matters up with the retailer directly.
  • Some links may be affiliate links from which we earn a commission. This does not affect recommendation order — recommendations follow your analysis and preferences, not commission rates.
09

Limits of AI analysis

Analysis and recommendations in the Service are generated by AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuited to your actual situation. Results are affected by lighting, angle, image quality, whether you are already wearing makeup, and the inherent limits of the models themselves.

Finished-look previews are simulations, not a guarantee of results. The same products and steps produce different outcomes on different skin, with different technique and in different conditions. Treat the Service as an aid to judgement, not a verdict. The final decision — and responsibility — for following advice, buying products or applying a tutorial rests with you.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we give no express or implied warranty as to the accuracy of analysis, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

10

Intellectual property

The Service’s software, interface design, look catalogue, tutorial text, trade marks and brand identity belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works without written consent.

Third-party cosmetics brand names and trade marks mentioned in the Service belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify products. They imply no partnership or endorsement.

11

Changes and termination

We may add, change or remove features, and where necessary suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service. For material changes or discontinuation we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance, and if a subscription you have paid for can no longer be used we will help address the unused period under the relevant store policy.

If you breach these terms, engage in fraud or unlawful activity, or your use puts other users or the Service at risk, we may suspend or terminate your account within reason. You may also stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections 06, 09, 10 and 12 survive termination.

12

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for: the cost of unsuitable products bought on the strength of AI recommendations; skin irritation or allergic reactions from using recommended products; the acts of third-party retailers; interruptions in data transmission; or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

In no event does our aggregate liability exceed the amount you actually paid to the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liability; there, the above limits apply only to the extent the law permits. Nothing here removes statutory rights you have under local consumer protection law.

13

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [TO FILL] governing law jurisdiction, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. For disputes arising from these terms, both parties agree to seek a good-faith resolution first; failing that, the parties agree that [TO FILL] competent court shall be the court of first instance.

This does not affect your right to seek redress from a local authority or court under mandatory consumer protection law where you live.

14

Changes to these terms, and contact

We may revise these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change, and material changes will be announced by in-app notice or email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
